Between the robust remains of the old IJssel power plant, a new world is rising. And that growth should go hand in hand with sustainability. Thus artist Ronald Westerhuis is ready to give new meaning to the old power plant with 'New Energy', sustainable and completely 'off-the-grid'. Here, national and international artists will come together for an innovative program, exhibitions and lectures. Check out the program during the Hanseatic Year 2023 below.

  • Exhibition ENERGY](event://114670 "")
    From May 28 to September 17 the Koelwaterhal will host the first ever exhibition called ENERGY. In it, 19 artists from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Spain and Switzerland stand on the shoulders of open minds from the time of the Hanseatic League.

  • IJsselbiennale x Hanseatic Year](event://114403 "")
    As part of the Hanseatic Year and the Hanseatic connection between Zwolle and Münster, an exciting group exhibition featuring the work of Münster artists will be on display at the Harculo power station during the IJssel Biennale, from June 17 to September 17. The theme of the exhibition focuses on the shared issues, the common ground between the Dutch and German territories.

  • Silver Camera Exhibition](event://117340 "")
    De Stad Verbeeldt is organizing the Zilveren Camera exhibition in Zwolle for the fifth time and for the third time at this unique location. It is a cultural-historical building with many stories about the developments of energy in the past 60 years. The exhibition can be seen from 1 to 24 September 2023.

    GETIJ is a theatrical installation produced by OORD OOST in collaboration with podcast maker Mette Bunskoek, sound artist Dennis van Tilburg and landscape artist Marc van Vliet. On view from 1 to 17 September from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Harculo.
