Hanseatic year 2023

In 2023 the Hanseatic Year will take place. During the Hanseatic Year, the nine Hanseatic Cities in the eastern Netherlands will be dedicated to the Hanseatic ideals for one year. The Hanseatic Year is an ode to the Hanseatic League; the medieval trading network that brought wealth and trading spirit to the cities and is still clearly visible and experienceable today. Hanseatic Year 2023 will be celebrated grandly with a comprehensive program of events and activities, from small local initiatives to large one-off events taking place in the historic setting of the cities. The program includes hundreds of Hanseatic activities in the fields of art, music, culture, education, heritage, sports and economy. Residents, entrepreneurs and visitors: everyone participates!

Together we make and celebrate the Hanseatic Year and show that the Hanseatic League is still alive and kicking and offers inspiration, for today and for the future.
